Hi, I am Susovan Mahapatra, a 25-year-old with a lot of ideas.

I love conversations, building things, chai (coffee too!), running, cycling, reading and consuming comedy. I use this space to put structure to my thoughts and share it with people who care.

✍🏽 I write every once in a while, I would love it if you could read some of my essays!

⚒️ Beyond my day job, I try experimenting with some side projects, do check them out!

✔️ Here’s a running bucket list of things I want to do before I die.

I spent my childhood in Bhubaneswar, the city with the best evenings. I value friendships and spend time on growing them. I have always been curious (the kind that reads food packaging labels) and love asking ‘why’. In 7th grade, I decided that I wanted to start my own company - for now, though, I take solace in working with early-stage startups and pursuing some interesting projects once in a while.

I enjoy setting things up, working on projects from scratch, and creating systems for scale. Most recently, I helped set a University up!

Things I have been upto:

▶️ I am currently a part of the first cohort of the Antler India Residency. Finally giving entrepreneurship a shot!

▶️ In my brief stint at Stoa School, I picked up the trade tricks on designing learning programs and products, especially in the context of adult learning.

▶️ Being in the founding team of a University is almost a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As part of Plaksha University’s founding team, I worked closely with the Founders and Senior Leadership to set up its Holistic Admissions Process and onboard an exemplary set of learners for its founding UG cohort.

▶️ My interest in startups and education coincided and led me to my first job. I worked with a bootstrapped alternate education venture, School of Accelerated Learning. Spending time between Hyderabad and Bombay, I created and executed growth strategies. I saw through rapid growth and two cycles of VC funding while I was there.

▶️ I have built and managed communities as part of Ashoka university’s Second UG Cohort. I was even awarded the Student Life Award for Excellence for my “exceptional and holistic contribution towards creating an enriching and inspiring campus experience outside the classroom”. I have continued to help build the community as an elected director of the Ashoka Alumni Association.

I go the extra mile for people, institutions, causes, and destinations (yes, I love to travel, run and cycle) that I admire.

I would love to stay in touch with you. Please do drop your email address here for me to update you about the (primarily exciting) things I do!
